NICKED what?
NICKED Up. Think of it as a network of sites which all happen to be created by me, Nick Momrik. My current sites are all blogs, so you might even call it a blog network. This is only the fourth site in the network, but I hope to expand that to a few more in the coming months.
What is the purpose of NICKED Up?
My vision is for NICKED Up to be a “home base” for all my web sites. I’ll use this blog to make announcements about updates or changes to sites in the network. I’ll launch new sites from here. I’ll discuss progress, traffic, earnings (maybe), and anything else related to the overall scheme of the sites.
Why call it NICKED Up?
I actually came up with the name a couple of months ago when I first had the idea of creating a central site. I wanted the name to have “Nick” in it and I wanted to have some type of play on words. So what does it mean? We’ve all heard some of these common phrases…
- He got messed up.
- That car is jacked up.
- Let’s have a few beers and get f***ed up.
When something is “NICKED Up” it means I’ve applied my thoughts, design, ideas, and skills to it. I’ve given something my personal touch.
Will NICKED Up compete with the big blog networks?
Not a chance. I don’t have the resources to even make an attempt. I wouldn’t even want to. It was never part of my vision for the network. I’ll just take my own little corner in the big picture of blogging.
Are there plans to blog full-time?
No. I don’t think I’d ever be able to rely on blogging as my sole source of income. It’s hot item right now, but you never know where it might be 5 years down the road. Online advertising could dry up. I don’t see that happening for quite awhile, but I’m not up for taking that type of risk. I won’t rule out the prospect of being a professional blogger at some point in the future, but I can’t see it happening anytime soon. Sure, I admit that I’d love to manage my own web sites as my job. It’s just not very realistic right now.
Is NICKED Up hiring?
It couldn’t be called “NICKED Up” if I did.
What sites are currently in the network?
- MtDewVirus
This is my personal web site and blog which has been around for a couple of years. I review movies, books, video games, and any other gadgets or toys that I might buy. Sports and computers are discussed quite often. There are also links to interesting or funny sites I find around the web. Recently I’ve cut back on the amount of personal posts, but you can still find out what I’m up to in my life from the blog - Poker Chip Tricks
The most popular of my sites, which is a must see for anyone playing poker. Learn how to perform many of the popular poker chip tricks with videos, images, and tutorials. The site also accepts videos of tricks submitted by visitors. - 2 Hole Cards
A poker blog that is approaching it’s one year of existance. I started to get more serious about my online poker playing last year by studying, reading books, and tracking my play. Poker content was taking over much of MtDewVirus, so I created a new blog just for my poker “wisdom” and ramblings. My brother Isaac has started to post on the site recently in order to help keep the content fresh.
When will new sites be launched?
I don’t have an answer for this right now. I’ve been throwing a few ideas around inside my head, but nothing great has come out yet. If you have an idea, please feel free to let me know. I hope to get at least one new site up by the end of October.
So there you have it. I believe that sums up my thoughts and ideas for the future. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment. Wish me luck!

Wow, Nick’s now a network! So how much are you paying yourself?
Split off your reviews into a seperate site?

I’m paying myself all of the revenue made by the sites.
I was thinking about splitting off the reviews because I do post quite a few over at MtDewVirus.
